Chinese Crested Tern is listed as Critically Endangered and its global population is less than 100 individuals. The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society launched the "Chinese Crested Tern Satellite Tracking Programme" in 2018 with US expert and conservation organizations in Indonesia. Our team went to Seram Island in Indonesia, a wintering ground for Chinese Crested Terns, in an attempt to attach satellite tracking devices to this rare species.
